Song cards are a simple idea with lots of possibilities. I had created a set back when I taught preschool – mainly because I can never remember words to all the songs I know.

This takes a little bit of graphic work (or a little bit of drawing skills), but I think it’s worth it. Then you need notecards (and markers/crayons if you’re hand drawing them) or printer paper (if you’re designing them on a computer) and a laminator.
On one side, you want the name of the song and a picture. This way, even littles that can’t read can point to the song they want to hear you sing. Then on the other side, you print the lyrics to the song.

I have made two sets – one with preschool songs and one with lullabies. I made them before Ava was born, and they ended up being really important for me since she was in the hospital for several surgeries. I could sing to her and read books to her and that helped me pass the time and keep her company.
I love singing to the kids, and this is another great way to bring music into the house.
Here are the list of songs I included.
